O’s #WrestleMania 32 Predictions

It’s been a while since my last blog post…

Enough of that, let’s just get into it, shall we?

Pre-show: United States Champion Kalisto vs. Ryback

20160307_wm32-keyart_match_kalistoryback_1920x1080-983d76314f9262b3c351e91fbcefe253

I think it’s too early for Kalisto to be dropping the United States title so early in his 2nd reign. Plus, I’m not looking forward to a Ryback US title reign either, knowing how boring he is as a heel. I think Kalisto will win with a roll up pin or something.

PREDICTION: Kalisto

Pre-show: The Total Divas vs. B.A.D. & Blonde

20160325_wm32_match_divas_final2-98af754ac3b7a893b69e927b380e51bf

I honestly don’t care about this match. But I think Eva Marie has too much heel tendencies to side with the Total Divas. I reckon she’s gonna walk out, leaving her team out to dry.

PREDICTION: B.A.D. & Blonde

Pre-show: The Usos vs. The Dudley Boyz

20160314_wm32-keyart_match_usosdudleys_1920x1080-0587053cfe9cc3bee8f819e63ae15370

This should’ve been a tables match. Also, I thought the Dudleyz would’ve won their 10th tag titles in the WWE. I guess it wasn’t meant to be. The Usos are really popular with the young demographic so I think they will go over.

PREDICTION: The Usos

The New Day vs. The League of Nations

20160315_wm32-keyart_match_newday_lon_1920x1080-716572d60de9dac6f4d7d0b626de49e9

As much as I love the New Day, I think the number disadvantage will prove too much for them. If they have a rematch however, The New Day would win.

PREDICTION: The League of Nations

The 3rd annual Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal

20160314_wm32-keyart_match_andre_1920x1080-dcbbde9941804fd9438de4aa6d9ffd95

This battle royal would’ve been so great if it weren’t for the injuries. I would’ve loved to see Neville, Cesaro, Tyson Kidd and, dare I say it, John Cena in this match. This has been one of the worst year for injuries for WWE, you would think they were Arsenal. Looking at the participants in the battle royal so far, I reckon Kane should win it since he is past his prime.

PREDICTION: Kane

AJ Styles vs. Chris Jericho

20160303_wm32-keyart_match_ajstylesjericho_1920x1080-254cf568c0871ceb096414387d8d10e6

How else are WWE going to push arguably your best wrestler from last year? AJ has to win this. And I’m hoping that AJ Styles will be pushing for a belt in the next couple of months.

PREDICTION: AJ Styles

Intercontinental Champion Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. Zack Ryder vs. Sin Cara vs. The Miz vs. Stardust

20160324_wm32-keyart_match_8man_1920x1080-70dc5220e7bb48fa403c6d116518156a

I can totally see Kevin Owens acting like a total prick in this match. Being scarred of climbing the ladder, hitting others in the back with a chair, being a prick, run from Sami Zayn, being a prick etc. KO is incredible as a heel champion, so I reckon he will retain his IC belt.

PREDICTION: Kevin Owens.

Divas Champion Charlotte vs. Becky Lynch vs. Sasha Banks (Triple Threat Match)

20160308_wm32-keyart_match_charlotteshasha_1920x1080-eb9510721be038b7c73cef69ecd758a0

Rumour has it that the Divas belt will be no more either after Wrestlemania or the RAW after WM. Who else will honor the “Woman’s Champion” title other than The Boss Sasha Banks? I have a feeling that Charlotte will somehow retain the belt, but I’m going with my heart on this one.

PREDICTION: Sasha Banks, new champion.

Shane McMahon vs. The Undertaker (Hell in a Cell Match)

20160308_wm32-keyart_match_takershane_1920x1080-2886e9f2446c8714b62572ee97f85b40

The stakes is high on this one. I just can’t see The Undertaker not competing anymore because he lost to SHANE MCMAHON. The other competitor that ‘Taker has lost to is Brock Lesnar. As much as I want Shane McMahon to win, I don’t think this will happen.

PREDICTION: The Undertaker

Dean Ambrose vs. Brock Lesnar (No Holds Barred Street Fight)

20160311_wm32-keyart_match_deanbrock_1920x1080v2-48c6b24c7846081b7ab92f7c6f43f559

The Wyatts will interfere in this match. They may have an influence on the outcome on this match, but if they don’t interfere, Brock Lesnar is squashing Dean Ambrose like a bug.

PREDICTION: Brock Lesnar

WWE World Heavyweight Champion Triple H vs. Roman Reigns

20160222_wm32-keyart_match_tripleh_new_1920x1080-f2fe26ad884144186a50c79668701777

This is Vince McMahon we’re talking about. Roman Reigns is going over. Even though he will be showered with boos.

PREDICTION: Roman Reigns, new champion.

That’s it from me. I’ll see you guys on the fallout tomorrow evening!

Love, peace & chicken grease.

O’s Track Of The Week: A Tribe Called Quest – 8 Million Stories

In case you haven’t noticed, today marks a very special day in hip hop and RnB: Midnight Marauders, Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) and 12 Play were all released on this day 22 years ago.

Because of this day, it was REALLY hard to ignore these albums and just put my usual Track Of The Week that’s not related to this albums. But for this day, I must.

8 Million Stories is not even my favourite track from Midnight Marauders. HOWEVER, it is no doubt my top 5 greatest story-telling songs of all time. And it was all down to one rapper: Phife Dawg.

Complex listed this as one of their 50 greatest storytelling songs in Hip Hop:

Phife Dawg of A Tribe Called Quest was really having the worst day on Midnight Marauders’ “8 Million Stories.” In the course of one afternoon, he: gets robbed, burns a hole in an outfit he’s ironing to wear on a date, takes his brother to a toy store to find a toy it turns out they don’t have, gets robbed again, and then gets stood up for his date. And that’s all in the first verse! After the chorus he tells us about a nagging, materialistic girlfriend he’s trying to get rid of, an ill-timed weed purchase that wins him a trip to the police statement, and, believe it or not, a third robbery. Ughh! Worst luck ever!

Also, I’ve said numerous times on Twitter that Phife Dawg’s contribution on Midnight Marauders was on point. I’m glad the group decided to let him rap more. Phife Dawg was so great on this album/song, you just wonder why he didn’t do it often?

I need to do more storytelling tracks for Track Of The Week. I’m looking at you Slick Rick.

O’s Track Of The Week: Gorillaz – November Has Come (ft MF DOOM)

What a fitting song for a fitting day right?

This would be the third time I’ve posted a Gorillaz track as Track Of The Week, but I doubt this would be the last.

Someone posted this track on the HipHopHeads subreddit a few months ago. Up to that point, I had no idea Gorillaz and DOOM collaborated with this masterpiece.

A few months later, here we are!

Enjoy.

O’s Track Of The Week Birthday Special Return: Zapp – Computer Love

It’s been a while right?

O’s Track Of The Week is officially back.

I honestly don’t believe great tracks needs any introduction or descriptions, unless it’s that really special. But let the amount of times I’ve played the song speak volumes. I’ve played this song at least 200 times.

I do believe O’s Track Of the Week needs more of a visual representation instead of a wordy article. Honestly, who has the time to read a WordPress article regarding a track?

In the future, it’ll happen. But for now, enjoy this classic. And the extended version too which is equally as good.

O’s Wrestlemania 31 Prediction Results & Reaction

I must admit, this is the one Wrestlemania that I’m not very keen on. But nevertheless, there are outcomes that I WANT to happen. Then there are outcome that I think WILL happen.

Let’s do this.

Tyson Kidd & Cesaro vs. The New Day (Big E & Kofi Kingston) vs. Los Matadores vs. The Usos (WWE Tag Team Championship)

Cesaro and Tyson Kidd are two of the most under looked wrestlers on the roster right now. I was very surprised that they managed to beat The Usos at Fast Lane last month. Up to now, I would’ve thought The Ascension would be in this match, but they’ve been buried to the ground. Ha.

Also, Cesaro is my 2nd favourite wrestler behind Adrian Neville. So yes, he’s retaining his title lol.

There was a moment where there was a lot of confusion on who was the legal man.

Still, this was a great pre-show match.

PREDICTION:

Tyson Kidd & Cesaro.

WAS YOU RIGHT THOUGH?:

Yes.

OISLIKE 1-0 WWE

2nd Annual Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal

20 have been announced for this battle royal, meaning, there’s still so many participants that haven’t been announced.

I would love for Hideo Itami from NXT to win this and execute the GTS again.

But realistically, I can see a returning Sheamus taking this home.

I even said “realistically” that Sheamus would show up.

It didn’t happen.

I didn’t think the Miz and Mizdow’s storyline would hold massive relevance in this match. I’m glad it did now, and it was very entertaining!

Big Show has cemented his legacy with this win. It’ll probably be his last accolade before he retires.

PREDICTION:

Sheamus.

WAS YOU RIGHT THOUGH?:

No.

Bad News Barrett (c) vs. R-Truth vs. Dean Ambrose vs. Luke Harper vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. Stardust vs. Daniel Bryan (Ladder Match at the WWE Intercontinental Championship)

I was wondering what Daniel Bryan would be doing for Wrestlemania, since he lost the opportunity to face Brock Lesnar by losing to Roman Reigns at Fastlane.

He’s one of 2 likely winners for this match, the other being Dean Ambrose.

I want Daniel Bryan to win because he’s the most “over” superstar of this match. Winning the IC title will complete his Triple Crown championship (World Title, IC Title and Tag Title).

I want Dean Ambrose to win because it would benefit him and make him more relevant. Also, he’s one of three who hasn’t won the IC belt yet (the other two being R-Truth and Daniel Bryan)

So to narrow it down, who will bring more prestige to the belt if they won it?

It’s easy.

It was a great feeling to start the event in a positive way.

It’s worth noting that Dean Ambrose was taken out with a powerbowb on a ladder, literally splitting him in half. This particular moment holds massive weight to what’s about to come in the main event.

My only regret: Kofi Kingston should be in this ladder match purely for entertainment.

PREDICTION:

Daniel Bryan.

WAS YOU RIGHT THOUGH?:

OISLIKE 2-1 WWE

AJ Lee and Paige vs. The Bella Twins (Brie and Nikki Bella)

AJ and Paige will settle their differences and beat the Bellas for this match, simply to make them contenders for Nikki’s Divas Title. After this, I reckon we’ll see either a triple threat or a fatal 4-way involving these divas.

I wanted the Divas title on the line for this match, but oh well.

This match was slightly botchy, but nonetheless, the divas held their own.

That’s pretty much all I have to say about this match to be honest.

PREDICTION:

AJ Lee and Paige.

WAS YOU RIGHT THOUGH?:

Yes..

OISLIKE 3-1 WWE

Rusev (c) vs. John Cena (WWE United States Championship)

Is it bad that I want John Cena to lose every match he competes in now? He just bores me.

Rusev hasn’t been pinned or submitted so far on the main roster. I’d love for his streak to continue and that, but he’s facing freaking JOHN CENA WRESTLEMANIA.

For this match, I’m booing the face and cheering the heel. But Rusev’s streak will be defeated today.

Rusev’s entrance with the tank was great, I must say.

John Cena’s second rope stunner was a WTF/LOL moment. I think Cena just wanted a larger set of moves maybe?

Perhaps the mid card title wins for Daniel Bryan and John Cena will bring more prestige.

PREDICTION:

John Cena *sigh*

WAS YOU RIGHT THOUGH?:

Yes.

OISLIKE 4-1 WWE

Randy Orton vs. Seth Rollins

I’ll compare Seth Rollin’s Money In The Bank run to Dolph Ziggler’s run 2 years ago: even though Dolph lost his match at Wrestlemania, doesn’t mean that he isn’t worthy to cash in. The night after Wrestlemania 29, he cashed in his contract on Alberto Del Rio and was successful.

How about Daniel Bryan’s MITB run 3-4 years ago. He was losing constantly, but still had a successful cash in on the Big Show.

Why can’t the same thing happen for Seth Rollins?

I’m expecting an epic match between these two wrestlers.

Unless Rollins wins dirty or hits his legendary Phoenix Splash, I can’t see him winning this match.

Expect an RKO outta nowhere.

Well, would you look at that?!?!

Randy Orton’s RKO, from outta nowhere, was a great counter to Seth’s Curb Stomp.

We all know what happened to Seth’s night, but where does Randy Orton go from here?

PREDICTION:

Randy Orton.

WAS YOU RIGHT THOUGH?:

Yes.

OISLIKE 5-1 WWE (I’ve already won btw)

Sting vs. Triple H

It’s Sting’s first ever match in the WWE. There is NO WAY Triple H is going over.

Seriously, I mean COME ON!!!!

OH COME ON!!!!

I seriously think this is an ego thing with the WWE. Why on earth would they let HHH win? I just don’t get it.

The thing I loved about this match was the interference of DX and nWo.

Oh, and Triple H’s Terminator entrance.

Yeah, everything was great except the finish.

PREDICTION:

Sting.

WAS YOU RIGHT THOUGH?:

No.

OISLIKE 5-2 WWE

The Undertaker vs. Bray Wyatt

The Undertaker losing last year still shocks me to this day…

Now that his streak was conquered, why does he have to compete again? If there’s any match I would want ‘Taker to take part in at Wrestlemania, it would be against Sting.

Still, this could be really great for Bray Wyatt to win, which could push him to the main event scene. And he thoroughly deserves it.

Someone on reddit said Bray Wyatt could capture Undertaker’s soul like some damn Pokemon and use it to win the WWE WHC Title.

Phuck it, it’s happening lol.

¬_¬

You know what, this sorta reminds me of Kane’s Wrestlemania XX feud with the Undertaker; Kane and Bray Wyatt did all of the promos with ‘Taker absent.

Bray should’ve been more dominant in this match. How can you confidently challenge the Undertaker, then be completely scared in the match?

Oh well.

PREDICTION:

Bray Wyatt.

WAS YOU RIGHT THOUGH?:

No.

OISLIKE 5-3 WWE

Brock Lesnar (c) (with Paul Heyman) vs. Roman Reigns (WWE World Heavyweight Championship)

Before Brock Lesnar’s annoucement, I thought it was a fore gone conclusion that Roman Reigns is winning, but now that Brock is saying with the WWE, I actually think Brock Lesnar would retain.

And I’m one of the people who doesn’t like Roman Reigns’ recent run. I don’t have anything against him, I just think his booking and recent promos leaves a lot to be desired.

With the Shield, he improves massively. Ambrose and Rollins did most of the talking. Why? Because Reigns has NO CHARISMA. What they could’ve done is make him a silent rhino and make him rampage through everything in sight.

Also, letting Reigns’ win will make Brock’s big wins against Cena and ‘Taker last year look like a fluke.

IF ANYTHING, Rollins cashing in, successful or not, would be best for business. With a Phoenix Splash.

I was ALMOST right!

I guess we’ll never know if Roman would go over, or Brock really was an unstoppable machine.

The beginning of the match was reminiscent of the Summerslam main event between Cena and Lesnar. The crowd, and I, LOVED IT.

It was looking like the match was a foregone conclusion with 2 F5s and a short trip to Suplex City, but Roman just didn’t give up.

All of a sudden, the match was even. After a third F5 by Brock to Roman, Seth Rollins cashes in his Money In The Bank contract to effectively make it a triple threat match.

Now, going back to the ladder match concerning Dean Ambrose; Ambrose said that as long as Seth has his contract, he will interfere in every cash in attempt by Seth Rollins. This didn’t happen because Ambrose was taken out by Luke Harper in the ladder match.

This was such a great move by WWE. From the moment Seth ran out to the successful cash in, I was marking out like CRAZY!

Brock didn’t get pinned to lose his title. Roman looked very strong and Rollins steals the WWE WHC as if it’s a GTA V HEIST.

Love it, and I can’t wait for Raw.

PREDICTION:

Brock to retain his world title.

WAS YOU RIGHT THOUGH?:

No.

O’s 2015 Royal Rumble Prediction Results & Reaction

This was a mixed Royal Rumble, just like last year. Apart from one stand out match, I can’t think of any positives about this PPV.

Let’s see if my predictions were right then, shall we?

[Pre-Show Tag Team Match]: The New Day (Big E & Kofi Kingston) vs. Cesaro & Tyson Kidd (w/ Adam Rose)

The best logical outcome for this match is for the the alliance that will stick together longer. You just couldn’t imagine Cesaro, Kidd and Rose having their alliance longer than The New Day can’t you?

Cesaro is one of my favourite wrestlers right now, and I hate what WWE are doing with him. But The New Day will win.

I missed this match completely because I was on my way to SKILLET’s house. But this match was changed the very last minute to a tag team match. It made sense because an elimination match would’ve taken longer.

Regardless, I was wrong about the outcome. Cesaro and Kidd won this match! I’m fully expecting some sort of remix on Raw tonight though.

MY PREDICTION WAS: Everybody say NEW DAY!

WAS YOU RIGHT THOUGH?: No.

OISLIKE 0-1 WWE

The Ascension (Konnor & Viktor) vs. New Age Outlaws (Billy Gunn & Road Dogg Jesse James)

Honestly, why is this match happening? I could understand Los Matadores facing off against The Ascension, but the New OLD AGE Outlaws? They may as well not have a match at all.

I still don’t understand why this match happened! This time last year, The New Age Outlaws won the tag team titles. As I said before, The Ascension squashed this match and it lasted in just over 5 minutes.

They should let Bad News Barrett defend his IC title instead of this waste of a match.

MY PREDICTION: We are THE ASCENSION. Welcome to the Wastelands.

WAS YOU RIGHT THOUGH?: Yes.

OISLIKE 1-1 WWE

The Bella Twins vs. Natalya and Paige

Nikki vs Brie will probably happen at Wrestlemania, so you could imagine Brie turning on Nikki sooner or later. I just can’t imagine Brie being ok with everything when Nikki turned on her last year. One of the Bellas will tap out to a submission.

Well would you look at that? They absolutely flipped my prediction upside down, turned that sum bitch sideways, and sticked it straight up..

You know the rest.

This match was actually very good! I thought the Bellas worked a very good match and were booked as a very good divas tag team.

I’m not even sure how the Divas Title match at WrestleMania will pan out now.

MY PREDICTION: Ram-Paige and Nattie By Nature.

WAS YOU RIGHT THOUGH?: No.

OISLIKE 1-2 WWE

[WWE Tag Team Championship]: The Usos (c) vs. The Miz & Damien Mizdow

Damien Mizdow will do something in this match that will piss off The Miz, which will eventually lead to Mizdow returning to his original gimmick: The Intellectual Saviour Of The Masses. I reckon Mizdow will copy The Miz in a way that will make them lose this match. After this match, the split up will happen later in the Royal Rumble match.

The Usos don’t even have to put in work to win this. They will retain and face the Ascension at WrestleMania.

I was partly right. I guess Miz and Mizdow will still be a thing since Mizdow is so over with the fans and his hilarious gimmick.

Let’s see if the Usos will face The Ascension at Wrestlemania

MY PREDICTION: Uso-Crazy.

WAS YOU RIGHT THOUGH?: Yes.

OISLIKE 2-2 WWE

[WWE World Heavyweight Championship]: Brock Lesnar (c) vs. John Cena vs. Seth Rollins

I’m not sure what role The Authority and Sting will play into this match, but it wouldn’t make sense for Lesnar to lose the title now since he’s conquered Cena and The Undertaker last year, CLEAN. He will hold the strap until Wrestlemania, losing it to the Royal Rumble winner and possibly leave for UFC.

This match stole the show.

After watching this match, I can say that I’m fully ready for Seth Rollins to be WWE Champion. His role in this match is easily top 3 already this year, and it’s only January. If this was the main event instead of the rumble match, I would’ve been more happy.

I marked the FUCK OUT when he delivered the phoenix splash on Cena, which I was hoping he would do it. I almost lost concentration of the match because it was nearing the end. I thought he was gonna save that move until he cashes in his MITB contract to make it look like a move you can’t kick out of.

Cena was protected as per usual. Ha.

Now, after seeing Brock Lesnar cleaning house, I actually want him to stay and conquer everybody until the time is right. He’s such a valuble asset to the WWE right now, and his super strength and agility in the ring can not be match by anybody right now. Seth Rollins will get the strap this year one way or the other, but the thing is, Brock is the only wrestler I can classify as a legit CHAMPION.

Triple threat matches are usually rubbish, but this one was definitely the best triple threat match I’ve ever seen.

AND MY PREDICTION WAS RIGHT!

MY PREDICTION: EAT. SLEEP. RETAIN THE TITLE. REPEAT.

WAS YOU RIGHT THOUGH?: Yes.

OISLIKE 3-2 WWE

Royal Rumble Match

Here is who I THINK have a chance of winning:

  • Bray Wyatt
  • Dean Ambrose
  • Daniel Bryan
  • Roman Reigns
  • Randy Orton
  • Dolph Ziggler

Now, because I am 95% sure Brock is retaining his belt, here are the two people I think can realistically beat Brock Lesnar clean at Wrestlemania:

  • Daniel Bryan
  • Roman Reigns

Daniel Bryan didn’t have his Royal Rumble moment last year, and we all now that WWE took a huge swerve by changing the main event scene at Wrestlemania. He’s had his moment last year, and will most certainly have that moment again someday. But for now, it’s time for a change.

BUT!!!

The most concerning thing I have about Roman Reigns is this:

  1. He’s only wrestled one single match at a PPV (beating Randy Orton at 2014 Summerslam)
  2. His promos are bland and boring
  3. Philly are a tough crowd; he’ll get booed if he wins over Daniel Bryan

My heart says Daniel Bryan, but my head says (Roman Reigns)…

I want to add Rusev to this list of people that could’ve won the rumble last night.

Let me put my views in bullet points, because a lot of BS occurred  during this match.

WHAT I LIKED:

  • Bubba Ray Dudley returning
  • Damien Mizdow having his Royal Rumble moment
  • Kofi Kingston being saved from elimination by Adam Roses’ rosebuds
  • Dean Ambrose using a diving elbow drop as a crossbody on Kane

Now, WHAT I DISLIKED about the rumble match:

  • Bubba Ray doing his signature Dudley Boyz moves with R-Truth instead of D-Von
  • The moment Luke Harper turned face to beat up Bray Wyatt with Eric Rowan. Then turned heel again 2 seconds later
  • Daniel Bryan eliminated by Bray Wyatt HALF WAY through the rumble as if he’s a mid-carder (after this point, the Philly crowd booed throughout the rest of the rumble match)
  • Big Show and Kane gingerly eliminating crowd favourites Dolph Ziggler, Bray Wyatt and Dean Ambrose
  • Big Show and Kane in the final 4 (why does Vince love big guys so much?)
  • Roman Reigns winning it (even though I predicted it)

The key moment out of all of this was Daniel Bryan being eliminated early. After that, it was a wrap for the rest of the rumble. The Philly crowd disliked it, I dislike it, Skillit, everyone I follow on Twitter disliked it, Squared Circle on Reddit disliked it.

They had a chance to put it right from last year’s shenanigans with Batista winning the rumble, and WWE screwed it up again this year.

MY PREDICTION: ROMAN REIGNS SUPREME

WAS YOU RIGHT THOUGH?: Yes, unfortunately.

OISLIKE 4-2 WWE

I beat WWE in predictions. But I just hoped that I was wrong about the outcome of the rumble match. Because now, Daniel Bryan is not going to face Brock Lesnar for the world title he never lost. All thanks to the WWE Creative.

Roman Reigns is not connected with the crowd yet, so why let him win? Batista last year isn’t connected with the crowd, why let him win too? WWE messed up and turned him into a heel because nobody was buying it. They flipped the script and let Daniel Bryan win the title at Wrestlemania.

WRESTLEMANIA MATCHES PREDICTIONS:

  • The Usos vs The Ascension (WWE Tag Team Championship)
  • John Cena vs Rusev
  • Nikki Bella vs Brie Bella (WWE Divas Championship)
  • The Miz vs Damien Mizdow
  • Randy Orton vs Seth Rollins
  • Triple H vs Sting
  • Andre the Giant Battle Royal

O’s 2015 Royal Rumble Predictions

I was supposed to do a predictions post for Summerslam and Money In The Bank lol. And I completely forgot! But since it’s one of the big 4 PPVs for WWE, I needed to start somewhere for 2015. Starting with the kick-off match up to the Rumble, here are my predictions..

[Pre-Show Six-Man Tag Team Elimination Match]: The New Day vs. Cesaro, Tyson Kidd & Adam Rose

PREDICTION: Everybody say NEW DAY!

PREDICTION: We are THE ASCENSION. Welcome to the Wastelands.

PREDICTION: Ram-Paige and Nattie By Nature.

PREDICTION: Uso-Crazy.

PREDICTION: EAT. SLEEP. RETAIN THE TITLE. REPEAT.

My heart says Daniel Bryan, but my head says…

PREDICTION: ROMAN REIGNS SUPREME

P.S. If WWE can’t decide between Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan, why not let Dean Ambrose win it?

I’ll see you guys after the rumble.

O’s 2014 Last.FM Charts: James Brown reigns supreme with over 1,000 plays in 12 months

Here are my most played artists of 2014:
UntitledWhy am I not surprised?

I’ve been listening to James Brown for years, don’t get me wrong. But beecause the man’s discography is so huge, I was finding so many songs every other week and kept repeating them.

James Brown easily has the biggest discography in my music folder, beating J Dilla. And you know the funniest thing? I have barely scratched the surface. Maybe like… 10%? 20%? I’ve still got a long way to go, so I wouldn’t be surprised if James Brown surpasses everyone for my 2015 Last.FM Charts!

Here are my most played tracks of 2014:

Untitled2

I’ve only started playing Love You Down since September, so it’s quite a feat that it’s topped every track.

I hope 2015 makes me listen to more artists. I feel like I’m not giving new artists a chance to prove themselves.

Enjoy your 2015!

O’s Track Of The Week (Christmas & New Years Special): James Brown – Funky Drummer

I can’t stress enough how much James Brown means to me.

Every since the first time I got a hold of my Dad’s Sex Machine: The Bery Best Of James Brown, I’ve been playing his music non-stop since I was a kid. It’s only until my Dad got me this legendary box set called Star Time that I officially became a stan.

Almost five hours of that compilation and I’m cherry picking my favourite tracks, which is like 15. I wish I could do a James Brown Track Of The Week in replacement for O’s Track Of The Week, but that wouldn’t be fair would it?

Now, one of the cheery picks so happen to be arguably the most important song for hip hop music – the Funky Drummer.

With Star Time, I grew up with the 7 minute version. But now that I’ve got James Brown’s entire discography, I now have 3 versions: The 7 minute version on Star Time, the 9 minute version on In The Jungle Groove and the bonus reprise beat with the legendary drum break.

It’s a James Brown record and he produced this track. But let’s not forgot the man who blessed us with the legendary drum break, which has been the most sampled sample in hip hop history: Clyde Stubblefield.

According to WhoSampled, Funky Drummer has been sampled 946 times.

According to my last.fm account, I’ve played Funky Drummer 315 times.

When I have children, no doubt I will be giving them the best of James Brown. This man’s name should may as well be a genre for music.

I hope all of you enjoyed your Christmas, and I wish you guys a happy new year.

R.I.P. James Brown!
